Today, you will stroll through Tiananmen Square prior to entering the Forbidden City. Then
onto the Temple of Heaven, China's largest existing complex of ancient architectural
buildings. You will end this day visiting the Summer Palace of the Empress Dowager Cixi.

Fly to Xian, the ancient capital city of China. Check in at your hotel. Later, you will be
taken on a tour of this city's massive city walls.

Today's highlight is the tomb of the Emperor Qin Shi Huang Di, guarded by thousands of

Day 7 (Wed) Xian/Lhasa (B,L,D)
Your memorable journey to Tibet, fondly called the "Roof of the World", begins
as you board your flight to the most venerable and high esteemed capital of Lhasa. Upon
arrival you will be transferred to your hotel. Balance of the day is free for you to relax
and adjust your body to the high altitude's climate.

Your day begins with a visit to the city's most famous landmark, the Potala Palace,
towering majestically above the city with a grand view of Lhasa Valley. Afterwards,

Today's tour highlights include visits to the sacred Jokhang Drepung and the Sera
Monasteries. Experience the sights and sounds of chiming circular prayer wheels; colorful

Fly to Chongqing via Chengdu where you will be escorted to a city tour. Enjoy a famous
spicy Sichuan hot-pot dinner before you embark on board your deluxe Yangtze cruiser. Your

Arrive at Shibaozhai where you will go ashore and visit the famous twelve-story wooden
pagoda, known as the "Pearl of the Yangtze". Later, continue cruise down the
mighty Yangtze.

In the morning, sail through the magnificent Qutang Gorge with its imposing vistas of
caverns, pillars and pathways. Later you will enter Wu Gorge with its immortal Twelve
Peaks. Your shore excursion takes you on a river boat ride on either the crystal-clear
Danning River through the towering "Three Small Gorges". Return to your cruise
boat and continue sail through the scenic Xiling Gorge, the longest and deepest of the
three Gorges. Pass through Three Gorges Ship Lock.
Day 13 (Tue) Yangtze

Arrive at Sandouping village where the massive Three Gorges Dam is located. A tour the
construction site is arranged for you. Return to your boat and disembark with your belongs
and fly to Shanghai, China's major commercial center. Check in at your hotel.
