Your morning tour starts with a visit to the Tokyo Tower Observatory for a panoramic view
of the city and Tokyo Bay. Then drive by Imperial Palace Plaza before arriving at
Asakusa Kannon Temple.

Today is free for you to explore this dynamic city on your own.
Day 5 (Sun)
Tokyo/Mt.Fuji/Hakone (L)
Today you will take a motor coach to Hakone through the country side and half way up Mt.
Fuji. After lunch at Highland Resort, you will proceed to Hakone for a cruise on Lake Ashi
followed by a ride on Mt. Komagatake Aerial Cableway. Overnight at

Day 6 (Mon) Hakone/Takayama
In the morning you will be transferred to Odawara and take a lightning fast
"Bullet" train to Nagoya then connect to a local train to Takayama, an ancient
and tranquil city also known as "Little Kyoto". In the afternoon, a walking tour
will take you through the city to visit Yatai Kaikan Hall, where colorfully decorated
traditional floats are on display. Continue on to Kusakabe Folkcraft Museum, former
residence of powerful merchants. Also take a stroll along the streets of Kami Sannomahi
Street and see the old traditional Japanese wooden houses.

Day 7 (Tue) Takayama/Kanazawa
In the morning, visit the local market of Takayama then drive by Lake Miboro and along
Shokawa River with stops at Former Toyama Family Residence, designated as an important
National Cultural Asset, and Shirakawago that features houses built in the
"Gasshozukuri" style with steep tached roofs called Gassho-Zukuri, or
joined-hands farmhouses. Then visit Gokayama, another World Heritage village and
experience making traditional Japanese paper. Continue on to Kanazawa.

Day 8 (Wed) Kanazawa/Kyoto
Morning sightseeing in Kanazawa visiting Kenrokuen Garden, one of Japan's three most
beautiful traditional gardens featuring hills, streams, small ponds and falls. Then, stop
at Kutaniyaki Pottery kiln that produces works of colorful design. Continue visit through
the Nagamachi samurai house district. In the afternoon, take a train to Kyoto and transfer
to your Hotel.

Day 9 (Thu) Kyoto
Morning tour of this ancient city visiting Nijo Castle, once used as the Tokugawa Shogun's
family palace. Then onto Golden Pavilion, a gilded structure originally used as a villa
for nobleman. Continue to Kitano Tanmangu, a shrine with complex roof of unique gables
representing typical Gongen architectural style, and Kyoto Handicraft Center.
Day 10 (Fri) Kyoto/USA
Transfer via airport bus for your ANA flight home. |
